Syed Murad Ali Shah approves to create new districts in Karachi

KARACHI: The government of Sindh has approved the creation of new districts in Sindh province, including Karachi. 

The Sindh Cabinet meeting was held in Karachi, where Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh, was heading this meeting. He has approved to make Keemari Town as the seventh district of the city.

However, it was recommended by the cabinet to include areas such as SITE, Harbour, and Baldia into the district Keemari. On the other hand, it was also proposed to make Maripur as another new district. 

It is pertinent to mention here that there are seven sub-divisions in District West Karachi, and it is the second-largest district in Sindh based on population. 

On the other hand, the CM Murad Ali Shah also renamed the District South in Karachi with South Karachi. He also said that the city should be named after the popular area name of that city.
