Shahid Afridi did not blame Misbah for 2011 WC defeat against India
Former Pakistan team superstar, Shahid Afridi says he did not blame Misbah for the 2011 WC defeat against India.
In a tweet, Shahid Afridi said, he is “misquoted” in the news, and says batting failure from the whole team was the reason for the loss.
“Unfortunately I have been misquoted in this interview. The 2011 defeat was due to batting failure of the team. The batsmen including myself didn’t sustain pressure of the chase. No blame on any individual!” Shahid tweeted.

Afridi was giving an interview to Arab News where they quoted him saying, “Many people speak about Misbah that he played a slow inning, First, it’s the nature of Misbah, this is his game. He takes enough time. He strives to take the game to the end. But this situation required to get the scoreboard going”.
Afridi also praised the late coach Bob Woolmer, “He won’t do politics … He knew the strengths of each player, he knew about the weaknesses so when a player wouldn’t perform, he won’t call him names but support him, he would back him,”
