Lahore: Iqbal Academy Pakistan announced the results of the Pakistan Essay Competition. In this regard, a grand ceremony held on October 15, 2020, at Aiwan-e-Iqbal. The special guest of the function was Mr. Sajjad Mir. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Basira Umbereen expressed his gratitude. Haroon Akram Gul hosted the event while the judges of the competition were Dr. Zeb Al-Nisa Sarwa, Dr. Aruba Siddiqui, Dr. Qasim Mahmood, and Mr. Ijaz-ul-Haq Ijaz. ۔ The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Qari Muhammad Basharat Ali Razane illuminated the hearts of the audience with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Princess Anam delivered Iqbal’s, Natya Kalam.
During the ceremony of Results of the Pakistan Essay Competition, Mr. Sajjad Mir announced the names of the students who secured the position. In the first category comprising of college-level students, Hafiz Muhammad Atif of Tatla High Tehsil, Nowshera Warkan secured the first position. Student Campaign of Lahore College for Women, University Lahore Gilani furthermore Mohammad Adnan, a student of Government Post Graduate College, Tala King, jointly bagged the second position while Mohammad Ali of ILM College, Sargodha and Sana Shahid of PST Post Graduate College, Kamalia bagged the third position. Ayesha Obaid of Jamiat-ul-Muhsinat Intermediate Girls College and Vidras Nizami Karachi, Ayesha Anwar of Punjab College Ayub Park Campus, Ayesha Anwar of Rawalpindi, Federal College Attock Cantt, Maira Paracha of People’s Colony Attock, Government Girls Post Graduate College Saidu Sharif, Ayesha Gul of Swat, Government College for Misbah Jabeen of Women, University, Sialkot was awarded the Encouragement Award for Best Essay Writing.
In the second category comprising students of the university, Muhammad Omar of Punjab University, Lahore bagged the first position, Sajida Akram of the University of Sahiwal and Muhammad Arshad of Rahim Yar Khan Tehsil of Jampur district bagged the second position while Rubina Yasmeen of Islamia College University Peshawar and GC University Zulfiqar Ali of Lahore jointly bagged the third position. Allama Iqbal Open University, Mian Sajid Ali of Islamabad, Lahore College for Women University, Gul Rana of Lahore, Sadia Khan of University of Okara, Ghulam Fatima and Azmi Yasin of Oriental College Punjab University Lahore. Mr. Sajjad Mir said that the thought of Allama Iqbal is the foundation of our civilization. The ideology of Pakistan is also Iqbal. He who understands Iqbal can also understand Pakistan. Competitions of this nature must continue. Director Iqbal Academy Prof. Dr. Basira Umbereen said that this essay writing competition is very important for the young students who are interested in the teachings of Allama Iqbal. Participation from all over Pakistan has proved that ‘this soil is very fertile if it is small.’ He said that the topics taken from Fiqr-e-Iqbal were selected keeping in view the existing issues.
