ISLAMABAD: The level of water at the Rawal Dam has risen to the red mark, and the reservoir management has decided to allow dam spills.
Today, Rawal Dam officials announced (Monday) in a statement that the spillways will open at 11:00 am.
“It would drain about 6000 cusecs of water from the lake,” according to the administration.
“The water level at Soan river would rise after the opening of the spillways and water may overflow from the stream’s banks,” the dam administration.
Soan River is an essential stream in North Punjab’s Pothohar district and drains most of its water.
It is essential to note here that this year’s monsoon rains rained more water over Pakistan and filled three major reservoirs of Pakistan.
