PESHAWAR: Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan is going to inaugurate the PTI’s flagship project of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) today.
The officials have reported that Mahmood Khan, the Chief Minister, and PM Khan will inaugurate the ceremony at Chamkani Depot at 3:00 PM. However, Imran Ismail, the Governor of Sind, and Pervez Khattak, the Defence Minister along with other government officials will attend this ceremony.
However, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced this week at news conference that all the arrangements for the sake of inauguration are set which are termed as gift from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for the sake of people of Peshawar. These are somehow finalized.
The concerned authorities informed the cost of BRT Rs70 billion and it would bring the revolution in the provincial capital’s transport system. So, the 340,000 common people will enjoy the safe journey.
Apart from this, BRT extends on 27.5 kilometer-long corridor track with 31 stations. However, there are seven feeder routes of the total 62 kilometers. Similarly, there are 146 stops to facilitate several hundred of thousands of people.
It is pertinent to mention that this project was launched in October 2017 under the chief minister Pervez Khattak.
