Peshawar: BRT service temporarily suspended after fourth incident of bus catching fire.
Since the launch of transit bus service in August this is the fourth time the bus caught fire. Fire erupted on back of a metro bus yesterday on hayatabad route. There are no reports of any kind of injury to any of the passengers on the bus.
The authorities have decided to suspend the BRT service temporarily. The spokesperson told media that a fresh inspection of all the buses will be held as safety of the passengers is govt’s top priority.
Spokesperson also added, “A comprehensive investigation and inspection of all buses will be conducted, The BRT service will be restored after it is completely cleared [of defects] from all technical angles,”
The BRT service was inaugurated by PM Imran Khan during the month of August. Imran Khan labeled the service as “the most sophisticated metro bus service” in the history of country.
