Motorway Rape Case: CCPO Lahore once again blames the victim
CCPO Lahore once again blames the victim and says she got raped because she traveled without the permission of her husband.
The Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights scolded the Lahore Police chief over his remarks during the past few days. The CCPO once again blamed the victim and said she was traveling without the permission of her husband. To which a member of the committee asked him to refrain from making assumptions, “Did this lady tell you,”.
The CCPO also forgot the name of his prime suspect, The prime suspect is still at large, and Police is yet to arrest him.

While talking to the Committee the officer said “If 15 [Police helpline] had received the call, we could have reached that place in 25 minutes. The first call to 15 was at 2:47 am made by a passerby and the 15 officials reached at 3:15 am.”
To which a member said either you don’t have any information or the committee has been misinformed. CCPO Lahore replied, “The call came at 2:47 am and the first [Dolphin Force] officer arrived at 2:53 am. I’m telling you the 100% truth,”.
The committee pointed out that the police says they reached in 6 minutes but you are saying that they reach in 28 minutes, is Police trying to misguide the committee?
The CCPO started to apologize again.
