Government to decide about the opening of Schools from 15 September Today
The Government had earlier decided to open the Schools and other education institutes from 15 September. The final decision will be made today on opening the Schools on 15 September.
The final decision will be made in an Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC). Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood will chair the meeting.
The officials from the health department and the Higher Education Commission(HEC) will also be present in the meeting. Officials will make final decisions about the strategy to open schools and SOPs regarding the reopening of educational institutes.
The announced earlier to open the school from 15 September but they also announced that the final decision will be made on 7 September. The situation will be reviewed today and the final decision will be made accordingly.
The health ministry officials will brief the education ministers about the current situation regarding COVID-19.
Single National Curriculum is also on the agenda of the meeting today. The IPEMC will also discuss the long term curriculum for examination 2021 and short term curriculum for the current academic year.
The recommendations will be presented to the National Command Operation Center(NCOC) for further discussion among the stakeholders.
The schools and other educational were shut down in March in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan.
