Telangana court today Sentenced 5 people to death and fined them Rs 100,000 each gang-raping a 15-year-old girl. A friend of the victim took her to a riverbank by her friend in 2012 under the pretext of having fun.
He gang-raped the girl along with two of her friends, and two other people helped the three friends in this heinous act. The court sentenced him to death for the girl’s statement, confession of the accused, and DNA Report.
Earlier in Bangladesh, rape was punishable by life imprisonment. Eight days ago, a video of thugs sexually assaulting a woman went viral on social media. The video sparked nationwide protests against the government demanding a sentenced to death for the rapist.
Following the ongoing protests in the country, the cabinet meeting had decided to give the death penalty to the perpetrators of rape, after which the law will be implemented in the country soon.
The protesters also had criticized Prime Minister Hasina Wajid for never taking practical steps to stop the affairs.
Some protesters were so angry that they had even demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister.
Earlier, members of the ruling party’s student wing lusted after a female student, who was arrested after a nationwide protest. However, after last week’s incident, protests turned violent against Hasina Wajid’s government. we had to kneel before the public demand.
