Fed govt thinks over selling shares of OGDCL

ISLAMABAD: Mian Muhammad Soomro, the federal Minister for privatization summoned a meeting where he asked to think about the selling shares of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Mari Petroleum Company Limited, and Pakistan Petroleum Limited.
However, the discussion in the meeting was done regarding those three companies. Similarly, it was also discussed regarding the selling of shares of Pakistan Engineering Company Limited (PECO) before 20 August. It would only happen once the consultation between ministry of commerce and industries occur.
This meeting was chaired by Muhammad Mian Soomro, and he gave the best option to sell 10% shares of the OGDCL. It was considered after the surveying the market situations as well as the request of petrolim ministry.
However, the 10 percent of the PPL shares would be sold out in the capital market. On the other hand, the shares market is little bit decline in the shares of company.
Moreover, it was also decided in the meeting that the Jinnah Convention Centre for the sake of commercial purpose. One thing to note that the land alongside convention center can be used for the commercial purpose.
