The film is written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré in her feature directorial debut. It tells the story of an 11-year-old girl who joins a dance group and explores the idea of young girls imitating sexualized imagery without understanding what it means and how dangerous this can be.

The film is facing backlash from fans for sexualizing the 11-year-old girls. It’s also alleged that promoters used different posters in promotion for initial release in France.
The film is rated on IDMB as “severe” for “sex and nudity”.
Young girls are shown on the stage dancing inappropriately in almost no clothing. People are calling Netflix out for sexualizing young girls in the name of creativity.
People are pointing out that girls were sexually exploited during the filming of the show.
