The last match of the series between Australia and England was played yesterday in Manchester. Australia won the match after the heroics from Glen Maxwell and AT Carey.
England chose to bat first after winning the toss and scored 302 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. JM Bairstow scored 112 of 126 balls and became the fourth fastest batsman to reach ten ODI hundreds. Chris Woakes and Sam Billings also scored the fifties and took England to 302. Starc and Zampa took 3 wickets each.
Australia’s inning didn’t start really well, as both openers were gone inside first 5 over with the score at 31. Wickets kept falling till 5 for 73. Then Maxwell and Carey put a partnership of 212 runs for 6th wicket before maxwell lost his wicket at 108. Alex Carey scored 106 before Archer took his wicket.
Australia needed 10 runs to win in the last over, Mitchel Starc finished the game with two balls to spare. His six and a four made sure that Australia wins the last over thriller. Woakes and Root took 2 wickets each for England.
