Resignation is coming after a week of a report published by a journalist in which he alleged Asim Saleem Bajwa of using his office to help setting up an Off-shore family business.

Asim responded to allegations by saying “I have not shied away to explain the allegations shamelessly leveled against me. These allegations have been hurled at me to tarnish my image,”.

Yesterday he published a press release on Twitter with a tweet, “I strongly rebut the baseless allegations levelled against me and my family. Alhamdolillah another attempt to damage our reputation belied/exposed.I have and will always serve Pakistan with pride and dignity.”

Many political analysts believe that Asim Saleem Bajwa has set good precedence by resigning. Especially, in a country where the ruling class always tends not to give up power in any circumstances.
